Business oriented senior Legal Counsel to ABB

ABB Sweden intends to hire a senior in-house legal counsel to join ABB Legal Team and serve as legal advisor to the business of the HVDC Product Group within ABB Power Grid Integration business unit. The position will be based at ABB Sweden headquarter in Västerås, Sweden. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent and confident lawyer to join a global business offering a challenging culture with high value and complex legal work.

Main Tasks

You will work closely and integrated with the organization to create effective, pragmatic and creative solutions to business and legal matters. You will draft, review and negotiate high value up- and downstream contracts through the whole contract creation process, often with consortium arrangements, as well as being the responsible lawyer throughout the project execution phase, including handling of claims and integrity matters. The work is greatly varied and you can expect exciting challenges over a broad spectrum of legal issues.  To meet the needs of ABB you will do some travelling.

Qualifications and personal profile

You have a law degree and significant experience as in-house legal counsel and/or lawyer with business law firm. You are a business minded and team-spirited individual with excellent communication skills at all organizational levels, and have experience in handling complex legal situations. With a positive attitude and pro-active way you work with your tasks.

Your oral and written Swedish and English are fluent. Additional language knowledge is beneficial.
