Group Legal & Corporate Governance is a global support function providing support and services to Volvo Car Group covering the areas legal, intellectual property, compliance & ethics and corporate governance. The Corporate Governance Office, a sub-unit within Group Legal & Corporate Governance, is located at Headquarters in Göteborg and is responsible for a broad range of corporate legal and governance matters.. Volvo Car Group has issued bonds subject to the listing rules of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange’s Euro MTF and complies with applicable parts of the Market Abuse Regulations and other relevant corporate governance rules, including the Swedish Corporate Governance Code. The unit accordingly operates in a challenging listed international business environment where you will find excellent opportunities to grow as a professional.
Main Tasks
We are looking for a Legal Counsel who will report to the group’s General Counsel. Among other things you will work with the formalities related to Volvo Car AB’s Board of Directors meetings, shareholders meetings and various corporate secretarial tasks for the other group companies. You will have a supportive, administrative and advisory role as well as managing internal and external processes supporting good corporate governance.. You will interact with many parts of the global organization, the auditors, external lawyers as well as various authorities.
In your work structure and thoroughness are of great importance and your responsibilities include e.g. to have an updated organization chart and to have continuous control over the claims list with ongoing product liability cases and other disputes etc.
Qualifications and personal profile
- Master of Law or other relevant degree
- Minimum 4 years of experience in practicing corporate law and corporate governance at a law firm and/or in-house.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent language skills in Swedish and fluent in English.
- A skilled, service oriented and pragmatic lawyer with integrity.
- Communicative with well-developed social skills.
